Ohio State student Jim Grote wanted to create an establishment that would focus on three things: creating superior pizzas, hiring great people and treating others as he would like to be treated. The company was a big hit and quickly became a firm favorite in Columbus with college students and families alike, mainly due to their focus on their superior products and great customer service. Grote started franchising the business in and this is where the business really took off. Jane Abell remains strongly involved with the chain even today. They now have over locations across seven states, with the majority of stores being located in and around Ohio.

Recent Reviews For Donatos Pizza April Tried ordering online the app gave me a time and confirmed it with an e-mail pizza never came then the manager act like it was my fault when i called to cancel because they was gon have them come a hour and half later!!!
We have been waiting half an hour in line to find out that they lost our order. Hawaiian pizza was really gross and I made the mistake of ordering it without reading that it included cinnamon and almonds. Boneless bbq wings were good but cost way too much for size and quantity. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we felt fantastic. The meal was tasty. We loved this place a lot and we shall definitely come back again.
The best Hawaiian! Their gluten free crust is great! All of their pizzas, regular and gluten free, are really good. They use lots of toppings on each pizza. Their restaurants are clean and neat. Very nice locale and great service encounters.
Word of caution: I ordered a Gluetin Free pizza due to allergy I get really sick with Gluetin and have the effects for a week. Ordered, Delicious cauliflower crust. When GF pizza brought to our table it was beautiful , server asked if GF request was preference or allergy after I ordered. I said allergy she said kitchen wanted me to known they had cut pizza with Gluetin contaminated pizza cutter. Glad they advised. I went ahead ate the pizza I know, I know..
Was thinking how much gluetin on a cutter could there be? Sharing so Donatos makes sure work surface, gloves, pizza stone and cutting tool are not contaminated and you know this allergy is outside of my control. On basis of my physical response there HAD to have been multiple sources of contamination. Donatos Pizza - W Parrish Ave, Owensboro March I ordered 2 subs and when they came they were not hot, had 1 slice of meat on the sub, the end of the bun was burnt, I had to add more meat because all I got was bread and a little lettuce.
I will never order subs or pizzas again from this Donatos or any other one. So unhappy with their food including the pizzas I have ordered in the past. The staff was courteous and friendly. They go above and beyond with their customer service, as well as their amazing hospitality.
The food is absolutely delicious and love this local area restaurant. This is by far one of the better local pizza joints in the area and will recomend this restaurant to friends and family.
