However, mumday do not have to be specializing in translation to read it. Otherwise, my rating would have been higher; 3. I have read this book because it is one of the textbooks for a translation course at university.
Not the end of the world, but I sometimes found myself wondering why a certain section came at that particular point, and sometimes I wondered why a certain section was even introducinv at all because it felt, at best, only marginally relevant. It was easy to read.
I highly recommend it, although I think this book can be better exploited under proper introducnig and in a controlled environment with a teacher able to guide students through each of the topics included.

Discourse and Register analysis approaches. I would recommend it as a short theoretical introduction to anyone interested in linguistics and translation.
The texts discussed are taken from tranlsation broad range of languages — English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Punjabi, Portuguese and Spanish — and English translations are provided.
